Alton Power Outage
Has anyone heard what caused the power outage in West Alton this morning? The power went out at 9:00 AM this morning and was out about 1 1/2 hours. According to the NHEC website, only 57 subscribers were affected. Just curious if anyone knows the cause?

No indication of power out here. There are 3 legs of the 3 phase that come up 11D, we must be on a different leg from you. We walked on 11D this afternoon and then drove the length and did not notice anything.

No outage on Rattlesnake Island. The equipment there shows an "uptime" of 65 days.... practically a record
Rattlesnake is fed from West Alton. Regards, Steve |

Nothing on Rand Hill Road..
No outage on Rand Hill Road... while we were not home during that time, none of the 2,351 electronic time displays in the house were flashing, indicating to me that there was no power failure at our house. Thank goodness.

Thanks for the feedback. Whatever the cause, it appears to have been very localized. I listened to the scanner during the outage and heard nothing about it even on the NHEC frequencies.

Had the same problem - every device was off by some period of time due to the frequent outages. Those so-called atomic clocks are GREAT! |

This is a reminder to be prepared. At a minimum have extra blankest and a flashlight so you can get through the first night.
Stay warm every one! |
