A Pine Martin taken by my wife. She got honorable mention in a photo contest.

Default Great Picture

I hunted trom 1942 to 2007 and saw lots of animals in the woods, but never saw a Pine Marten. Your wife was lucky to catch this picture of one.

Default That was taken in Maine

Word is they are still abundant up there and hunted for their fur.
She sat for about 1/2 hour in the snow to get just the right shot.
Bear hunting season had just ended and all the unused bear bait had them coming in for a free meal.

I saw some incredible marten footage possibly in Disney's "Charlie the Lonesome Cougar."
