Default Wet Slip Rates - 2007?

Curious as to what people are paying per foot for wet slips…. For 2007 at Downings Landing in Alton Bay I’m paying $120.00 / foot.

I'm paying just a fraction over that. Based upon my investigation, you are paying the going rate.

Maybe so the rate doesn't increase if the owner finds out s/he's less than other places?

All of the slips in GYC basically are going for the same so I do not think it is an issue. Comparing marina to marina price-wise is tough as each has different features/amenities. GYC has 2 bathrooms/bath houses and decent parking but thats about it. Other marinas such as MVYC, Spinnaker, etc have more to offer and rental prices reflect this. Just because GYC may be cheaper than a spot at MVYC does not mean that slips at GYC can command the same price.

Code, I was just responding to your asking why GWC posted that, I took it as a joke and gave a joking response to you, as evidenced by the . I realize on a forum such as this it is impossible to read the "tone" of the message, especially when you have never met the person making the post (i.e. me, in this case); thus we have emoticons. Thanks for your elaboration on the differences in rates from marina to marina; throughout my years on Winni I have noticed variances in rates and never knew why! (sic) I would also add location (i.e. part of the Lake from one Marina to another) to those variances and "gut feel", i.e. you like it or you don't, to any list of why one chooses one over another. Happy Boating!

My post to you was for information purposes only, no need to be defensive. I knew GWC's post was meant as a joke, I didn't find it humorous but did not take any offense to it either.
