Default Weekend Hike?

Coming up this weekend and was thinking about taking the family on hike around Squam Lake area. Spring is usually very muddy and typically the season to stay away but with so little rain, I wonder how things are.

Anyone been up the Rattlesnake Mountain trail over the past week or so? Is it possible or a spring mess?

Default You should be fine.

We have had almost no rain to speak of in the last month.
Drought conditions and high fire danger have been the norm.
All the rivers, streams and the water table in general are running below normal.
You should have no problems with muddy conditions or running water.
Although, Saturday night into Sunday they are predicting showers or rain for our area.
Have fun, enjoy your hike.

Default Trail Conditions

Walked up Red Hill Trials last weekend (4/6) and they were dryer than a typical summer day.
Hiked up to Tuckerman's Ravine on Saturday 4/7 and that trial was also dry until the snow line when it became a nice smooth snow trail with minimal slush or ice.
Lake region trials should all be dry as the snow is essentially gone and no new moisture of significant amounts has been added.
