Default Sunsation Boats

We recently sold our 25 ft Baja bow rider. We are considering purchasing a 28 ft Sunsation bow rider and were wondering if anyone had any information regarding Sunsation's performance and quality. We test drove one about 3 years ago at Shepp Browns marina in Meredith and we were impressed with it. Any information would be appreciated.

Curly...

Check out OSO... www.OffshoreOnly.com There is a Sunsation forum there. Pretty informative.

Great boat!!! I love them. It is a shame there are no dealers here any more. I drove the 32' Dominator with twin 496HO's that Shep's had as well as the 28' with a single 525hp that used to be in Paugus Bay. That boat was upgraded to a 32' SS, I see him fly by my place every weekend.

When I was in the market, I drove a 30' Outlaw at Channel then immediately drove the 32' Dominator. The Outlaw felt loose in the water, at 80mph it bounced along side to side, basically chine-walking. The Dominator was tight, handled/cornered well, took the rough stuff great and had excellent acceleration.

Sunsation has a forum on their website full of insightful owners, check out www.sunsationboats.com.

Can you tell how much of a fan I am?

Default Great choice!

You can't go wrong with a Sunsation - from quality of build to customer service and support, everything you hear is true... I know first-hand as I owned one. Joe and Wayne - the owners of the company - are first-class, will help you out in any way they can and stand behind their product. I'd be sure to get it surveyed first, make sure the boat is as-represented and cover all your bases. Once you get to that point, if you can make the $$ work - and you are happy with it, buy it. From a brand standpoint, you will not be disappointed.

As Woodys said, OSO is a good source, as is the Sunsation web site - they have their own forum and you can get a TON of info there!

If I can help at all, let me know.

Mark

will you be using it solely for Lake Winni and other similar bodies of water? Or are you thinking of going offshore at all?

We plan on using the boat mainly on Lake Winni...we live at the lake during the spring and summer months and will keep it docked there.

You will be just fine then.. The 28 sunny is a GREAT lake boat and you can't beat the price. I just normally don't recommend them (the 28 that is) for offshore poker runs etc. But it will eat up Lake Winni.. Are you looking for a new or used one?

we are looking for either...new or used....all depends on the cost
we are only interested in the 28ft bow-rider with 425 hp minimum and prefer fairly new

There is a very nice one on offshoreonly down in VA. I don't think it is a bowrider though. Is that a deal breaker?
