Default question on height restrictions

To anyone who can help: What is the height restrictions on the bridge in wolfeboro that you pass under to enter Back Bay? I know it must change with the water level but just curious as to the average boat size that can fit under it. Thanks!

Don't know the exact height, but it's really low. I'd guess under 4 feet.

That video out yet? I want to buy one as a gift.

Dave,

thanks for your reply...i figured it was something around 4 ft myself. As for the video-we're almost done! It's been a long process but the end is finally in sight. The deadline for us is April 30th, so as soon as its released we'll let you know!

Default Height

It is also shallow under the bridge especially if you to move to the side. (exprienced a dinged prop)

Default Low Ceiling

It's very low. I remember seeing one boat go through with his all round white light and it scrapped all the way through. Usually just high enough to clear the windshield

Default Bridge clearance

The Bizer chart lists the clearance as 4.2 feet. That is referenced to "full pool" lake level, which is the target level for springtime.

I've got a Monterey 190ls and am able to fit under there with no problem. Last spring the water was so high that the jet skiers had to lay down on them to get under. In "normal" water conditions I've seen 23 foot bowriders go under there but that was pushing it. There is a launch on the other side of the road too but it's narrow and if you've got a wide beam then you may have issues.

Bridge clearance can be ascertained as follows:
  1. Add the bridge height on Bizer's chart (in this case, 4.2 feet) to full lake (4.3) to get a subtotal (8.5 feet).
  2. Call 603-527-0071 to get today's lake height (3.2 feet today)
  3. Subtract the two to get todays clearance of 5.3 feet (8.5 - 3.2 = 5.3)

Is the number "4.3" above, the depth?

represents the feet above the reference point at which the lake is considered full. That reference point is 500 feet above sea level so the height at that full pool is 504.3 feet above sea level. todays level is 503.2 so 1.1 feet below full pool. depth readiings are based on full pool so if the depth on the chart is 5 feet and your 1.1 below that you have 3.9 feet of water.

Thanks. didn't realize it was just a truncated "504.3"
