Snow in Meredith
I'm sitting in Fla and watching the huge snowstorm in Mass and wondering
how much snow fell in Meredith and whether they lost power? |

We've got almost a solid inch of snow....
Got to love the weather forecasters. Its rather windy so maybe some folks will end up losing power but all is quiet right now. Just goes to show you - never trust the media! |

Cams
take a look at the cams , the mt Washington cam indicates very little depth but this has hours to go . The lake is also at the northern edge of the snow line on this on .
Boston is another story , did the right thing closing down |

i look out my window and see about 16 inches in the middle of boston right now - then i look at the cameras and see only 2-3 inches at the house in Laconia...seems very backwards....

Let it snow!
I'm in Milford NH, between Boston and the Lakes. We have at least 12" so far but the wind is causing varying depths.
I don't mind, tomorrow afternoon I'm driving to Florida. |

Where did the snow go
My deck in Sanbornton had about three inches on it yesterday; just checked the camera and 3/4 of the deck is blown clear. Looks real windy.
We have over 18" north west of boston. About to start round 1 because the dogs won't leave the deck and I don't want the deck to clash with my trim color |

In the last hour or so it's picked up pretty significantly in Gilford. I still think we are going to get less than forecast but still a good one for sure!

about 2' in MA
How ironic....I left Meredith yesterday and did some extra shoveling around the mailbox and driveway there, and it is here in the western suburbs of Boston where we are getting creamed. Took this shot just now....about 2' I would guess...just about up to the arms on the patio chairs, and still coming down pretty hard!

Snow in Meredith
I live on the NE side of Lake Wenthworth. As of 10:00 a.m. the wind is starting to pick-up, and there's lots of blowing snow. My best guess is that we have somewhere between 3"-6". No power outage yet, but most likely will have one before it's over & done.

I like the way you cut the post before you took the picture. Good idea!

Pounded in Beverly
Getting pounded here in Beverly. No signs of stopping. We have feet of drifts in the yard. The plow tried to come and could not; had to towed out with a wrecker with chains. We're probably going to have to hire a front end loader when the storms done.
Picture taken approx 9AM

West Alton
Only about 7" so far up here on the hill side. Maybe another 2 0r 3 inches to go. Not too bad. Slightly more dense than what I expected, small flakes most of the storm. I'll wait 'till morning to run the plow truck down the 650' driveway. Should I get stuck J will pull me out with the tractor with a big grin on her face like the last time.

Hard to tell with all the blowing and drifting...
Definitely a very fine light snow, and there is a lot of drifting in the yard.
It did seem to be around 8 inches or so. Visibility never did get down near a quarter mile. Channel 13 in ME is showing that we should still be getting 18-24 in eastern Belknap Co. Guess we will just have to wait and see. Plow guy came by early afternoon, and cleared off most of driveway. I went out and cleaned up in front of the doors and the path to the wood. Just glad the temp is not in the upper 20' or low 30's. I'm afraid that this will not pack down to do a lot of good on a lot of trails. We'll see.

Sorry about the hip and hope you get well soon, but when I first started to read your thread I thought you were going to say "I'm housebound nursing my scotch"

Any idea how the rinks in Meredith are holding up? The puck drops Friday morning. Oh, and here's what I'm dealing with today here in Lawrence, MA.

Work on Rinks underway
They have been working on the rinks the past week, last night(during the tail end of the blizzard) they had giant light tree powered by a generator and had plow trucks clearing the ice for the rinks.... they will be ready! I also saw lots of vendor trucks/stands on the ice already.

Snow finally stopped around 4:00am. NWS says Wolfeboro got 16.1 inches (with 3-5 more predicted on Friday, and 8-12 more on Monday). It's been colder, so the snow is light and powdery, thus no power outages. Naturally, the roads are already cleared...

It was great that snow was so light that I had no problem moving it around yesterday. I cleared an area around my bird feeders so the ground feeders could eat. They were so grateful, that they swarmed back even before I could spread all the seed on the ground. Between the Cardinals, Chickadees, Blue Jays, Juncos, Gold Finches & woodpeckers, I had more than 20 birds sharing both the feeders and the ground even with the strong wind blowing across the yard.

Blizzard
It's a winter wonderland here in Newton, MA. I'd guess we have 2'. The wind howled yesterday and it was snowing sideways! No school again today.

Well on the W. side of Ossipee Mt. the first 12 hours of the storm the temp was in low teens and windy so the flakes were small and blew around a lot.
Probably 8-10" then the second half the temp rose and the flakes got bigger and landed were they fell of another 4-6" so, in all a little more then a foot. But you can easily clean it off a car with a regular car brush. |
