Default New boater: best place to take kids tubing

I'm a first season boat owner. Passed the boating course and taking my time navigating the lake taking it slow. I am slipped in Melvin Bay. Any recommended bays to take kids tubing? Low chop, near by. Took a pass into Twelve mile bay to look around. Took boat up towards Suissevale where I have a home. And have only cruised around Melvin and moultonborough bay so far.

I want to take it slow and play it safe as I get comfortable around the lake. Thanks in advance for any experienced advise.

Melvin Bay/Melvin Village where you are slipped is a good place to tube. Plenty of room and fairly calm.

Thank you, we will start off there. Very open, notice the wind cuts across but not too bad.

Default The best place to tube?

Generally speaking, the best place to go tubing is in the middle of the lake. There is usually less traffic and fewer obstacles in the open parts of the lake.

When possible, please avoid coves and small bays. There is usually someone trying to water ski or wakeboard. Hitting waves and driving in circles is fun on a tube, but not so much on a ski! If you see someone trying to ride, stop by and ask them what their line is going to be - I'm confident they will happily coordinate with you to achieve optimal fun for all!

Enjoy the lake!

We like Ames Farm and Winter Harbor, both can be pretty popular tubing locations so just keep your head looking around and have good spotters...
