Default Hart's Turkey Farm

Shamefully, or not, but for some reason we have never gone to Hart's. Their online menu looks very...yummy, and diverse, and well-priced.

How does it compare to say, The Mug? Mame's?

Can't give you the comparisons but when we went with family it was great and we will return. Prices are very fair too.

Default Only go there if you want turkey...

Back in the 70's, my parents took my brothers and me there fairly often, and us kids loved to stuff ourselves on turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and gravy. I hadn't been in there in more than 30 years when my own teenage son coaxed me to go there last year. I thought I was in a time warp when I walked in...nothing had changed since the 70's, (or before!). I half-expected Richard Nixon to be on the TV they had on....

My son loved the turkey dinner. I wasn't in the mood for turkey, so I opted for the broiled haddock...big mistake. It wasn't rancid or anything, just very boring and no flavor. It had definitely been frozen fish and not fresh.

If you want turkey, stuffing, potatoes, & gravy, and an atmosphere that reminds you of Grandma's from the 1950's, then it's a good choice. If you want something other than turkey, I would go somewhere else.

Default Turkey Buffet where it's at

I try to get to the lake on Friday nights in the winter in time for the Turkey and Prime Rib buffet. It's a good deal as long as you aren't on a diet. Turkey Harts does great, Prime Rib for the Buffet they do OK as they are cutting it off a large piece at the buffet table with all the fixin's. Anything else I'd be very cautious of, I've never been over joyed ordering anything at Harts other than Turkey. I made the mistake once of trying the breakfast buffet in the summer.... never again, couldn't even eat it.
As with all things here YMMV

Smile Tonight's Dinner

Called in for Take out tonight. My son ordered the Turkey Nuggets, liked them very much....I have had them before, they are excellent. My wife ordered the Farm salad with Roasted Turkey and she liked that very much. I ordered the Baked stuffed Sea Scallops.....this meal was excellent. Last trip for take out my wife and I both ordered the baked stuffed Haddock. We were very impressed with this dish considering we were hesitant to order this item from a well known Turkey restaurant. Very nice surprise!! Needless to say, Hart's is not just Turkey. Huge thumbs up for Hart's Turkey farm Restaurant.

Although it has been many years since I have been to Hart's, I have good memories of the place. If you look in the LDS newspaper, the restaurant advertises specials at pretty reduced prices for such things as haddock dinners and such. Worth a look.

We usually go to Hart's once a visit each year. Been going since it opened. We like their lobster roll. I remember the turkeys being raised behind the original building. Guess that makes me old

Default Hart's Turkey Farm

There is a reason it is Hart's Turkey Farm, and that is because they do a great job with serving turkey. It is not called Hart's Roast Beef, or Hart's Steaks, or Hart's Fish, or Hart's Anything Else because that is not what they do. I have eaten many times at Hart's and NEVER had a bad turkey meal. So, with all due respect, if you want turkey, go to Hart's, if you want something else, try somewhere else.

You are correct. At the same time, why feature a dish on your menu if you are not able to prepare it properly? While they might specialize in turkey, does that mean everything else should be barely edible?

I had a real bad turkey dinner there, a few years ago. I know that's a long time, but I never went back. Even I can cook a decent turkey.

For the best fried clams I go to Kelly's Roast Beef in Saugus or Revere...

Thanks, that just gave me a hankering for clams and may need to make a run to Kelly's tonight! -PIG

So if I don't like Turkey then I shouldn't go there.

I'll remember that.

Grew up in Saugus, love Kelly's.. the beach location was open 24 hours a day many years ago, but not sure that it still is.

I grew up in Lynn and spent a good amount of time on Revere Beach in the 1960s. Kelly's was great as was Rudolph's with their steak and onions. Kelly's is still going very strong on the North Shore: Saugus, original Revere location and Danvers on the Liberty Tree Mall site. Saugus on the way to a Bruins or BC hockey game has become a family tradition. Warmer than Revere and great tropical fish tanks.

We go to Hart's just about every time we are up at the lake, especially in winter when they have their Friday night buffet. I'm not a huge turkey fan so the buffet allows me to sample a variety of items while my husband gets his standard turkey dinner and french onion soup.

love harts in the off seasons, hate it during peak summer season quality seems to go down, but when you are feeding 100s a night that will happen

Default Always a great meal

Been eating there for many years. One of the old stand-by's in the lakes region. Consistent quality for so many years.
