So when we see you, do we hail you as A-M-P, (using the individual letters) Amp (as in the electrical term) or Another Monthly Payment?

Great name!

Default Picked her up

Well we picked her up and threw it in the water even tho it was raining. Then on the way home we discoverd half the trailers lights werent even working. When I finally got her home,I had found that the wires for the lights had been cut.Ok shame on me for not checking before heading out.I thought when you buy a boat and spend $17k that the dealer would make sure everything was good to go.I am chaulking this up to typicall customer service in this day and age.I managed to fix the wiring on my own,but did I really have to on my first day as a boat owner. The dealer didnt even throw me a @#$@# bone.Maybe im over reacting but as a first time boat owner I would think they would have pretty much made sure everything was up to snuff with the boat and trailer.P.S plus I had asked them to throw in a 12 volt power plug and that didnt happen either.I waited 2 weeks for my boat and this is how I was treated shame on them.

Default Don't think all dealers are that way

rmorse,

Sorry for your bad experience with the trailer. And it is no reflection on you not checking before you left....THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING BEFORE LETTING YOU LEAVE.....but I know the dealer and that doesn't surprise me.....well I was looking for a boat I looked at a couple thier and they are interested in moving product.....not in earning long term customers....well that is my opinion of the sales guys anyways .... I have used there service dept. once or twice to get parts and they have been good....As for what other dealers do when you pick up a boat...well they hooked my trailer up and then let me hook it up.....we checked all the lights
and went over some of the trailering laws.....

Hopefully it will all be better for the rest of the season........

Congrats! Hope the boat works out for ya.

Wal-Mart sells waterproof 12V outlet kits for cheap money. Few minutes with a holesaw and a soldering iron or crimper will have you all sorted out and you'll know you did it right. I added two in my cabin last year for fans, cell phone charger, DVD player etc.

I make it a point to check the trailer lights every single time I hook up the the trailer to my tow vehicle. I think it is a good habit to have. Glad you found the problem before you were rear ended...
