The Riverview Motel consists of 15 units, and a 2nd floor owner's unit.

I can't quite recall when it was initially built but I think it was in the 1970's or so.

I believe it was closed before Covid for renovations, and I am guessing the expenses are running far too high as little or no progress has been made there for a long time. Most everything is currently boarded up, but there always is one vehicle in the parking lot (owner's car?).

If someone attempted to build this today I don't believe it would be allowed as it is likely is too close to the water, and the septic requirements are far more stringent today then they once were.

Fixed up, it could be worth a lot of money. Right now it isn't generating any income at all. The sad part is that if the units were fully restored the State "could" be interested in providing year 'round tenants (footing the bill to temporarily house those less fortunate). Housing is quite scarce now and many states are now renting motel rooms for folks in assistance programs.

My advice would be to contact the Alton Building Inspector to get the inside information on what is going on. For all I know maybe a STOP WORK order has been issued for some type of violation(s).......

A lot of this is speculation so I would advise anyone to do their due diligence if they are thinking of making an offer to purchase it.

A group of us used to come to the lake every weekend. During 1970 through 1973 we often stayed at the Riverview Motel. I am not sure when it was built but I know it was there then.

When the Riverview was full we often stayed at the cabins across from the lake about 1/4 mile north of Pop's on the same side. Some interesting years and experiences!

I suggest you call the Alton Building Inspector at 603-875-2161 and maybe he can answer some of the questions that you are asking.

The last know phone number for the Riverview Motel was: 603-509-2777

I have no idea if they will have a website or publish their hostory. You should contact them and find out for yourself. I am not sure they will answer their phone.

Best of luck!

Sorry, but I've done everything I can do for you at this point.

It's up to you to do the legwork now and you can post your findings on here.

Best of luck!

But does anyone know when the Riverview motel was built and when they will be done with the renovations of the motel? And if the motel will add their new website and add everything about the hotel including it's history and add pictures of the Riverview motel over the years? And also add their new phone number?

Is there a reason you don't go to the source and ask your questions?

Stop by the Riverview and ask anyone there. Research the owners online and contact them. As has been said, call the Alton Building Inspector with your questions.

It is time to give up here! There is no point in repeatedly posting the same questions.

Default From Avatar Database on Town of Alton Website

RB ENTERPRISE LLC listed as owner.

Notes: 15 UNIT MOTEL W/LARGE OWNERS RESIDENCE ON 2ND FLR; 4 EFF UNITS; RENOVA 2014; 1997-ADDITIONS 2001 ADD=4 EFF UNITS ECO=INCOME/EXPENSE FUNC=SOME UNIT A/C/SOME MODERN HEAT PUMPS/MIXED QUILITY/SOME UNITS/HEAT CONTROL IN UNIT UNITS 1-8 KICHENETTS UNITS 9-15 1+2 BEDS BEING RENOVATED; CK 2022;

I go to meetings and activities at the Masonic Hall just down from the Motel. There has been little activity in quite some time.

I would not expect it to be "remodeled" soon, if ever.

I wondered what happened too and had the same thought as you did--will they ever finish it?

The pictures were taken 2 days ago.

The upper floor has looked this way for quite a while.

Don't know when it was built but was here when I moved into town on April 30, 1996. It is certainly considerably older than that.

I don't know about any website and I would suggest you contact the builder for a phone number, as I said in an earlier post.

The gray things stacked up are building blocks / paving blocks that have been there for a long time!

I can only tell you that if you want more information, go over to the Alton Circle to the motel site and if no one is there when you get there, leave a note with your questions.

I quite frankly am done with this thread.

My lord man. Give it up. You have asked the same questions numerous times and have been told to find the answers yourself and how to do it. Not sure if you are simply a troll or unable to read and comprehend. Waiting for the “limited ignore” to appear.
