Default Old outboard gas tanks

I have two old Evinrude Cruise-A-Day 6-gallon gasoline tanks I want to unload. Their age is multiple decades, probably 1960s or earlier. They haven't been used for at least 20 years, likely a lot longer than that. One is essentially empty, with some wet-looking slime on the bottom, likely residue from any gas/oil mixture having evaporated over the decades. The other is about a quarter full of old oil/gas mixture.

I see several possibilites.

1. Take them to the dump, ask the staff there what to do, pay a fee, etc.

2. Take them to the hazardous waste collection event at the end of next week.

3. Give them to someone looking for tanks to clean up and use with an old relic outboard motor.

Any thoughts?

Thumbs up Craigslist

Advertise on Craigslist. Great way to get rid of anything! I'm sure there is someone out there looking for old tanks.

Default

If those are the type with the button to push to pressurize them and the double hose then they are worth a considerable sum. Check out ebay for comparable tanks and $.

I would go more with #3 if the tanks are not rusted/leaky they are worth $$$$$
