Please, please. please, don't pay up front for services and paint not bought and services not performed! We lost over $1,200 in upfront payments. The guy is on the run, so you don't have to worry about him soliciting your business, but there are others out there.

Chaselady-
I was just about to reopen a thread I had asking the same question and compliment the painter we hired -- a recommendation from this very Forum-- as we just bought a new Condo and asked the exact same question ( for interior) I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you get an estimate from Kevin Russell ! He was absolutely AWESOME ! Way beyond "just a painter" . Timely, courteous, and RETURNS CALLS ! Feel free to PM me for details .

Painter for Island work?
Looking for a good exterior painter for an island lake house. Mink island location (duh!). May have some interior work too. Must have their own work boat.
Thanks all. |

I used to use Kevin Russell for painting on the island. He had a pontoon. Bob Powell was either always busy or non-responsive.
There was one other painter I used, he would use my boat. I can't recall his name but if you search my posts for island painters you will find it. |

Kevin Russell
He has done painting for the condo association. Reasonably priced, always on schedule, quality of work is great. Large jobs, small jobs and is a fellow boater.
If he sees work that needs to be done such as window sills, rotted trims or clap boards, he will notify you first before continuing. He's 'da man'! There is a school teacher who does excellent work on the side. Since his time is limited, there is a long wait. Marc Carbinaue.

...... Glidden Paint & Gilford Wal-Mart!
The Glidden Paint at the Gilford Wal-Mart is super-duper quality paint, and they do custom colors, and they know what they are doing, plus it comes in qts, gals, and 5-gals, interior & exterior, flat-satin-semi-gloss & hi-gloss, and costs way less than all others like Ben Moore, Sherwin Williams, Pittsburg, Lowes, Home Depot and others. Wal-Mart painted a good deal with Glidden, and Glidden is excellent paint.
It's a good idea to put a major effort to choosing the colors that work for you. It is not uncommon for people to be not too happy with their chosen paint colors after the job is done ....... so's a word to the wise ...... put some time and effort into getting the colors you really like......and then give it a little more time for picking the colors. A winner paint job is all about getting the colors right. Most all the customers who buy Glidden at the Gilford Wal-Mart are do-it-yourselfers, like me, as opposed to professional painters, according to the Wal-Mart paint sales people, but just-the-same, and regardless, Glidden makes some very happening, hi-quality paint.
