Default Trout tips anyone

I usually only fish for bass. But this year I've promised myself that I want to get into catching some trout. Does anyone have any tips they could give me for catching these guys now in the early season?? I've been trying to catch them at the mouths of the many rivers that come into Winni. I can see them sitting there looking at me and I think they are giving me the "fin"!

Thanks!

Default Berkley Power Bait

I assume you're fishing from shore. Try a rig with a very small hook, #8 or #10 with a small split shot sinker about 2 feet above the hook. Buy some Berkley power bait. Keep it a simple flavor/color. Buy a few jars so you can experiment. Roll up a piece of power bait about the size of a pea. Cover the entire hook with the pea sized power bait. Cast it out and the sinker will go to the bottom and that power bait will float up above the sinker. It's simple and IT WORKS GREAT!

I've been trying something like that but I think the currents where I've been fishing are maybe too strong or my weights aren't heavy enough?
