Default Bizer Chart Version

I just picked up a "new" version of Bizer's map, the laminated type. Maybe I am blind but I have not found a version number on the map. I got thinking that Marinas and other locations might have old stock and not the most recent. I'm not overly concerned, more curious. I doubt the map I picked up is very outdated.

If there is no version on the chart, why not?

I have noticed this myself in the past. Keep in mind: None of the islands or hazards have moved since the last edition. The buoys are "probably" going to remain in the same position..more or less.

In the past, I have ambled by every "Mark" that I deem important to me....(I pick the lighted ones) and entered it into my GPS as a waypoint. After that... if the "Mark" moves..it doesn't matter, you have the TRUE position of where the mark Should Be. NB

I generally agree with you and as I said, I'm not overly concerned. But they do move, remove, and add buoys from time to time.

I like your suggestion of visiting important spots and placing your own electronic buoy.

Upper right, within the map itself. It is there, it's vertical....again upper right and not in the legend, on the map.

As mentioned, the edition number, along with the corrected-thru date, appear about two inches (50mm) to the left of the big "Z" in the upper right. On 05-APR-16, Bizer replaced charts at marinas around the lake. Any chart purchased after that date should be 2016.

Are there changes, yes. Are there major changes, not really. A new shallow are was found in an out-of-the-way place. A buoy that magically appeared in 2003 disappeared in 2013. It was only 50 feet from Stonedam Island and not much navigational significance. Another out-of-the-way buoy that disappeared in 2002 was replaced sometime within the past 3 years. Marinas come and go. Buoys move, sometimes noticeably. Significant changes are listed on Bizer's web page.

Technically, Bizer's 11th edition could already be updated. Anchor Marine is no longer at Weirs, but Bizer was not aware of this at the time of printing. The exact location of the NO-RAFTING area northeast of Tuftonboro Neck is still in dispute.

Hi Bizer. Just received my new Bizer but am wondering about the edition number. I have a 6th edition and cant find an edition number in the same place as the 6th. I know this is the 11th but it is printed on it somewhere to refer to in the future when I forget?
