Default ...Meredith tennis-summer-2013

So, what's up with no doubles adult tennis this summer in Meredith at the usual Monday-5pm, and Saturday 9-am, as in the past few years. So, where is the Meredith tennis game?

Am I missing something here......like what the H is going on this summer with the Meredith tennis groups?

I asked twice at the Meredith Community Center but the front desk did not know.

In case u did not know, Meredith has six hard surface courts that are about eight years old and in pretty danged good condition, and two courts are lighted for night use.

....entry cost to use the Meredith courts........no charge.....a total freebie to anyone & everyone....and the six courts (one has a hitting backboard) do not get hardly any use.....from what I've seen!

...unlike golf, tennis is a very cheap sport to play!

I'll play you--if you have an extra racket.

Tennis? People actually play tennis??? I thought it was something you just watch on TV when pretty blondes are playing each other.

Default ......new green rubberized asphalt

Today, August 12, is the first day for the newly re-surfaced Meredith tennis courts to re-open. Last week, all six courts were resurfaced with a smooth coat of green colored, rubberized asphalt ..... aka hard surface....and it takes a few days for the new rubberized asphalt to harden up before it can be played on.

Today is the day.....an all new surface....the six Meredith courts have outdoor night-time lighting for two courts....and everything is in very excellent condition...and the courts were first constructed approximately ten years ago in 2003....and were in pretty danged good condition before this re-surfacing.

If you want to see some local tennis courts in very rough shape......with very old surfaces that have numerous cracks, deeply in-bedded black mold and irregular surface buckles; then go take a look at the two Center Harbor courts and the very, home made, funky hitting backboard. Two Center Harbor tennis courts; a fantastic, super-duper, super-nice location in need of some tennis love; let's go Center Harbor, it's time to give your two courts and backboard a redo! www.advantagetennis.net got it done for the six Meredith courts ....... let's go Center Harbor......hut-hut-hut .... the ball is in your court! So, what colors for a Center Harbor re-do.....what with about 20-different tennis surface colors available?

....by the way.....walmart.com sells items like tennis court nets ($150 - 200), and replacement steel support posts!

.....let me see...the Walmart store sells a yellow, Head tennis, Novak Djokovic racquet for about 16-dollars....and the very same exact racquet sells for 39.99 at Plymouth Ski & Sport on Main St.....and it is a perfectly good racquet for someone just starting tennis....

Tennis is probably the cheapest sport out there; for just twenty dollars, you can get yourself a decent & usable Head www.head.com/tennis tennis racquet or a www.wilson.com/en-us/tennis tennis racquet but not at such a low price, a quality www.babolat.com tennis racquet plus an el cheapo $1.50 can of three tennis balls www.pennracquet.com/tennis.html at Walmart, and you probably already have the tennis clothes; sneakers and a hat ...... tennis....what-a-cheapie sport compared to golf, boating, skiing, or motorcycles! .....and, of course .... using the six Meredith tennis courts is totally free to anybody.....and they are usually very empty and available to use ..... April through November-plus !
.........

....when u buy a quality can of three pink tennis balls made by Penn for aprox $3.25/can, Penn donates 5-cents/ball to breast cancer.

Default ....tennis anyone?

Plymouth High School now has all four of their tennis courts cleared of snow and can probably (?) be used when the tennis teams are not using them.

Meredith; six courts, Center Harbor; two courts, and Ashland; two courts: are all still covered with snow and ice. The Holderness Elementary School looks to be about half-way into removing all the snow and ice from its two courts.
