Default Missing Cat Gilford Village Area

... Hoyt Road, Alvah Wilson, Sprucewood, Timber Lane area.

One of our only "Outdoor" cats is missing. Disappeared last Monday. While it's not unusual for him to be our for a day, maybe two. This is not usual for Harley.

We've checked all of the usual, Humane Society, Police, Public Works and all the neighbors sheds and garages along with flyers to the neighborhood mail boxes.

No Luck.

I don't know. I haven't gotten a reply yet. If anybody knows another way to get a hold of SteveA please ask him to check his PM and give me a call. No idea how Harley could have gotten to Black Cat Island from Gilford though. In the meantime he's eating well. He got leftover shrimp and scallops this morning.

Default Wow

Thanks Gatto!

Nice to talk to you, we'll be over in the AM to check him out! Harley would disappear for a few days at a time, maybe, if it's him, he wanted to see the other side of the lake!
Yesterday was one of the few days I didn't check into Winni.com.

Default Close... but no cigar!

Thanks Gatto Nero, it was very nice of you to contact us about our missing Harley.
But it looks like you have just been adopted by a very nice polydactyl cat!

It was very nice to meet you, and your wife.

Have a very Merry Christmas, and I hope you can find the owner, he's a beautiful cat.

Thanks again, SteveA and Dianne.

Polydactyl? six toed cats made famous in Key West.

Steve,

It was a pleasure meeting you both as well. Too bad it didn't turn out to be Harley but I guess it was a long shot. If you don't mind we'll pass that name onto him anyway and we'll do our best to find a good home for him. Merry Christmas!

Dianne and I LOVE the idea of keeping the name Harley going!

Steve, I am so sorry to hear of your lost Harley. I know how important your cats are in your life. I pray Harley returns to you. I hope you can have a Merry Christmas.

Much Love for Christmas and a joyous New Year,

your conservative friend,

Jeff

Thanks Jeff,

It was so good of Gatto Nero to call us, and Dianne and I could see why he thought it was our Harley, they were very close to identical.

Our Harley was 1 of our 2 "outdoor" cats. Outdoor cats have less than 1/2 the average lifespan of "indoor" cats. He brought home his share of Chipmunks, Birds and Mice. Things balance out, so I suspect an Owl or a Fisher turned the tables on him. Natures way, like it or not.

Stay well and Merry Christmas!

PS.. I already have my Obama 2012 sticker on my car!

The ears look too pointy to be Harley. Steve and Diane would know better.

Harley went missing in October, so I think it's unlikely, BUT I've sent an email to the craigslist poster to see if he knows what part of NH the truck came from.

Pineedles is correct, ears don't look right. BUT, it's worth checking out. Thanks for the post. I can't tell you the numbers of times I leave the car windows only to find Harley in the car after I got half way up the street, so getting into a truck wouldn't surprise me.

Steve - Quilt Lady and & are hoping you're able to find Harley soon (or that he finds you.) We know how much your cats mean to you and Dianne.

Don & Peg (Two more of your conservative friends!)

P.S. Could it be your Obama bumper sticker that's keeping him away?

Nah... he went missing long before the sticker was put on the car.

The very nice young lady that found the cat that "came down from NH in a truck" still has the cat. She responded to our email and called us. He is a much younger cat, and doesn't have Harley's "white spot" on his chest. Plus, he hasn't been "fixed". (I always thought that was a strange term BTW)

Living in NH, if I didn't have Conservative friends, I'd have very few friends!

Happy Holidays to you and Quilt Lady!

Steve, you may be happy to know that we eventually did find the owners of our "Harley". Friends of ours took him in over the winter while also leaving posters leading up to and around the island. They didn't get any hits for quite some time so they took him in as their own. They renamed him Earl and he became part of the family. Just a couple of weeks ago, however, the original owners apparently saw one of the posters and rang them up. His original name is Steely Dan.

Good for Steely Dan! As far as getting lost, I hope he doesn't .. "Do It Again" (sorry couldn't resist)

IMHO they are the best "Jazz/Rock" band ever!

Does anyone but me noticed the Harley-Earl name thing? Harley Earl is the designer of the Corvette.

Glad to see it went to a good home at least and is being taken care of.

I'm afraid I didn't catch that one. I can tell you though that we pinned him as Harley because a) that was the name of SteveA's missing cat that we had hoped we'd found, and b) I ride a Harley. After my friends took him they first renamed him Moulton because they already have a dog named Meredith but it turns out that was too similar to a neighbor's cat (don't recall the actual name) so they settled on Earl because he's grey. Earl Grey, get it?

Our Harley got the name from the fact that we adopted him from the humane society during Bike Week. That cat was definitely a "Harley!"
