Default Canvas Repair

Hi, long time reader, first time poster. Can someone suggest a canvas and vinyl fabricator? I need a mooring cover and some vinyl work done on my boat. Bayview canvas in Alton moved to Florida. Looking for quality work at a reasonable price. Thanks.

Canvas Plus in Melvin Village. 603-544-3178. Ask for Rick. Excellent work and good rates.

You might try The Canvas Guys on Intervale Road in Gilford, 293-8151.

I second Canvas Guys in Gilford - little and small jobs they do great work. The tramps on my NACRA 5.2 as well as the stiching on my tramps on my T-Gull 23 were top notch.

Default turnbuckles

Anyone know where I can buy a dozen boat cover turnbuckles that have something like a 6-32 or 8-24 machine thread stud for attaching to an aluminum hull, as opposed to the wood screw thread that is used on a fiberglass hull?

Thumbs up Canvas Guys

I had them repair my vinyl seats as well as replace my cockpit cover. Excellent work. I suggest you let them do the work during the off season. They are wicked busy during the summer. I once brought my boat to Dave's Motorboat Shoppe for winter service. They towed the boat over to the Canvas Guys across the street to have the seats repaired, then towed it to Diamond Shine to have it detailed. Wicked cool! Almost like a one stop shop!

Different strokes for different folks, here. I kinda like the look of a $6.00 grey vinyl tarp from Wardo's bargain store that has been neatly tailored into a home-made mooring cover along with a centered air vent and a dowel and crutch tip for a center support . Besides, it's probably a lot less money than a custom Sunbrella job done by a local canvas shop for an 18' Starcraft aluminum outboard boat, and it will go with the rest of my boat . I'll try to post a photo on this thread when it's done.
