Default Belknap County Commissioners

If you want to see how these official act, go to BelknapCounty.com and watch the March 2nd meeting. It only last about 12 minutes. These are the ones making decisions.

LOL, No joke, that's actual footage. It still amazes me that these guys are responsible for spending our tax dollars.

Default Belknap County Commissioners

This is extremely disappointing. It puts conservatives in a bad light, to say the least. I voted for DeVoy and Burchell because they promised to bring some sort of fiscal responsibility to the Commission. From what I read, it appears that Burchell wanted to ramrod his budget without input from the other commissioners. They had an opportunity to work together to develop a budget that met Laconia's tax cap requirements and satisfy the needs of our county. Instead, they come off looking like a bunch of impertinent children.

Monday, March 2, 2015: Belknap County, NH; commissioner's meeting, starts at 9-am; new.livestream.com/lrpatv/vod

A three member county commission with the chairman continuously telling the other two commissioners that they are out of order, until at 9:40-minutes the two leave the room, and the chairman continues the meeting discussion all by himself, with no other commissioners present.

....this seems more than a little unusual for a supposedly serious meeting?

March 3, 2015, local newspaper report:http://www.thecitizen.villagesoup.co...airman/1312248

and, from another local newspaper; http://www.laconiadailysun.co/index....urrender-gavel Oopsie, this March 3, 2015 link to the LaDaSun does not want to work?

What a joke. I'm surprised the Chair didn't just call the cops in. Seems to be the new norm in these situations. Pathetic - period.

Default Reminds me of this famous movie scene...

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...e+out+of+order

what, exactly, does a county commission do, anyway? They should all be embarrassed...

I need a good laugh this morning.

I think it's time for some one to be voted out of office.

Just the seating pattern and body language alone tells you how much they like each other! :-)

Does anyone know if these folks get paid, and if so, how much?

Default Belknap County Commissoners

How did Burchell ever become chairman in the first place, much less get elected at all? I feel sorry for Belknap residents but it's who they chose.

Not many people run for political positions and what you get is people who really have no clue. IMHO. These towns and counties are big businesses and should have businessmen who know what they are doing running them. People who vote don't REALLY know who they are voting for in most cases.

The Chairman did ask for the police to clear the room and to have his opposition arrested disorderly conduct. You can hear the Deputy off camera, rightly refuse to arrest the other board members.

But maybe, he should have taken all 3 for a first hand look at the jail. Maybe then maybe they will make a decision to do something about fixing it.

The biggest reason is I wouldn't have time, trying to run a business and keep our private lives going is all I can handle.

What a hoot! I have seen kindergarten meetings that are more professional and effective. I would say that in light of the happenings in Alton and at this Belknap County Commissioners Meeting, we have some big issues to deal with in terms of local governance.
