Are you also looking for competition? I was rated 5.0, 8 years ago, but now maybe 4.0/4.5 and out of shape. :-)

Its all good. The ratings go from 2.0 to 5.5 and then "open" and they are used for USTA sanctioned tournaments. 2.0 is a beginner and 5.0 is usually a college player.

Meredith has six new, hard surface green courts, tucked away, down the dirt road behind the bowling alley and baseball field. Usually, there's maybe 2-3 empty courts.

Here's looking for tennis lessons for a so-called adult......namely myself! Anyone know where to go for some tennis lessons in the greater metropolitan tri-town area of Meredith-Moultonborough-Laconia-Plymouth?
Anyone know where there's public tennis courts with decent usable back-boards? If Serena Williams brought her raquet to the lakes regions, what tennis court location would likely be her first choice for a tennis-practice, vacation area? Where would she play?

I hate to rag on FLL, but I couldn't let this go by:
"tri-town area of Meredith-Moultonborough-Laconia-Plymouth?" Wouldn't a tri-town area consist of three towns? I know tennis has a funny way of counting, 15-30-40-game, so maybe, when discussing tennis, tri-town can be 4. |

Too cold to go boating...there's always tennis at the very nicely built and located SIX MEREDITH HARD SURFACE TENNIS COURTS. With November 1 almost here, there's still about one month or so of court use left before the snow covers the courts.
Open to anyone wearing smooth tennis sneakers, no charge to use, and located about 1/2 mile down the dirt road just past the bowling alley on Route 3 at the ball field. Yes, there's still a few out there playing tennis in the 30 & 40 degree temps. Just dress correct, and pretty fast one gets warmed up what with the tennis back & forth. Never too late to go play tennis.....and for about twenty bucks...Wal-Mart has your raquet.....and three balls for 1.50. Meredith Outdoor Tennis; changing the way that people think about October and November. Whoever built those courts knew how to do it because the rain seems to drain off quickly. I keep hoping that Serena Williams will put in an appearance. Hey SERENA......meet me at the six Meredith Courts! Is she really six feet tall? ![]() ![]() ![]()
