Over many years of marriage, my signature and my wife's have grown to be more and more similar, almost indistinguishable. If the check clears, why do we need a signature?

In the meantime, full online registration is slow in coming because towns are afraid it will mean they lose the revenue they get from boats not registered through their office. The state could send funds to the town as happens with cars, but the Dept. of Safety has been more aggressive with the mail program so they get to keep money. Call your rep or senator and ask them to file related legislation in September.
