If you want to go to a larger, state of the art range, drive down to Manchester and visit the Manchester Firing Line on Brown Ave (next to the airport):

This is an impressive modern range with a large variety of firearms to rent (including some full auto firearms if you feel the need to shoot something that not many can afford to own).
It's about an hour drive straight down Rt 93 from the lake, but I think it would be worth it for a fun outing like this.
Then, on your way home, stop at their gun store "Shooters Outpost" on Rt 3 just minutes off Rt 93
