This is true in most cases...
There are caveats though.... I have seen policies, that don't even cover the trailer... I have also seen policies that cover the trailer and contents up to a certain amount....
And I know my current policy states that I can tow things and it doesn't void my policy... and my vehicle has continued coverage through the policy. But it doesn't cover my trailer or contents (collision). My boat and Jet-ski insurance policy covers the trailer and contents. I have been informed as the car policy is with one agency, and the boat and trailer with another that both have to be notified in case of a accident.
Bottom line always discuss things with your insurance agent.....
