There was a small bar area in the southwest corner of the room which I guess they use when the room is used for a private function. When they opened the new room and changed the entry way, one of the waitstaff said that the upstairs was to be the function area, to cut down on the number of trips up and down the stairs with trays.
I always liked sitting up stairs overlooking the downstairs, but I can see how that can be a pain, even if they had a food elevator.
