Regarding red-top markers, I have an old map that shows
Treasure Island marked as
Red Top Island. Could there be some connection with markers? Was it more-appropriately named at some time?
There's no mention of that name anywhere else that I can find.
Edit to add:
Just looked at the old map again, and it's Red
Head Island.
