I always put a new belt on after the first run of the new season so as to clean up the drive, and driven clutches. Then put the new one on.
Also, you could have a loose or cracked pulse line to your fuel pump, or a weak fuel pump.
Of course, it's always a good idea to do a complete preseason check over on your sled before riding.
