Pressure is the operative word in your statement. As in water pressure.
It's not a big problem if it just drains into the bilge. Now, I'm not that familiar with Alpha outdrives (owned only Volvo and Bravo). But if they are like a Bravo, the water that leaks from that tube can be extensive as it goes all the way to your speedo--And when that tube leaks in your dash panel it is a real pain in the arse to repair! I speak from experience.

Just my $0.02, but is might be worth checking out, since you are having problems with other gauges.
