How about making a new and higher horizontal ridgeline with an eight foot 2x3, maybe five feet above the existing boom, and then draping a blue polytarp over that. The increased pitch hopefully will shed all snow.

You need to figure out a way to attach the 2x3 to the mast and the main halyard (that's tied to the rear of the boom) without damaging them. Maybe stainless clamps and screw eyes.
