I have very cool app on my IPhone that uses the IPhone compass to locate sunrise and sunset. I've been using it, and it's amazingly accurate. It has a compass, that actually will point you to the exact location of sunrise and sunset.

I also have a moon phase app, but it only shows phases by date.
