I'd pick the end, both so that I wouldn't impose on my hiking companions for carrying me out to the trailhead, and so that the hike would "count" toward my next round of the NH 48 4000 footers. But I suspect that I won't get to arrange things that way. It's simply the way I would have it if I could do so.
