So... I went to Apple Ed's on The Neck and he did have lots of types for sale! I choose Golden Delicious, Empire, Macoun and Honey Crisp (my new favorite). Talked with Ed and he gave me 2 free "samples" of a newer type of apple - Mutsu, also called Crispin - very tasty!
So for my appetizer at this weekend's I sliced up 2 of each type and spread them on a platter and also made a pumpkin dip. Here's a picture:
