They are using a
real SLR for those images and it shows. If you can setup a real SLR or video camera inside looking out a window and connect it to a computer for the uploads you'll get excellent quality like they do.
Cameras designed as self-contained webcams can't quite equal that quality. The Axis P1346-E used for the WeirsCAM has lots of great at features but certainly isn't as sharp as the Portsmouth SLR cameras. I think the
Star-Dot cameras widely used around the lake (old WeirsCAM, Minge Cove, Snake Eyes, Anchor Marine CAM and others) actually produce a sharper image than my Axis camera and I will probably use them again in the future.
