You nailed it. I couldn't figure out what about my experience was uncomfortable. The place lacked actual personality. I don't need to be schmoozed, but common courtesy is needed. We are paying a premium for a service.

And, I only write these to help the owner. I hope he reads these and improves upon what could be a fabulous restaurant.

Like I said, food was just so-so...I got a steak that I couldn't really chew, it was on the tough side and it was one of their specials. One other person got steak tips, he said they were delicious and
last diner got some sort of seafood Alfredo which he said was just ok. So scratch it from our list, maybe we'll try again come winter but for now it's a no go.
