Had a fun local ride Saturday. Saw the boys grooming the section of RR track along Meredith Bay. The Bay was a bit slushy around the edges but for the most part pretty good. Even got to see the Boys in Green hiding behind a bob house working the radar gun (I was only doing ~40 MPH). Very pleasantly surprised considering Friday's weather.
Sunday early afternoon was a different story. The trails were definitely showing the effects of warmth and traffic. The south facing slopes on the powerline in Meredith are not looking good. Once you crest the hill and head down in Center Harbor coverage was much better. Meredith Bay's Saturday slush was Sunday ice...not pleasant.
Hopefully I'll still be able to ride the sled from the house to Center Harbor for the Derby, but looking at this week's temps and weather, I'm making some other plans.
