We never say goodbye when we leave the lake because we never expect to be gone long.

However, as kids, when we were driving to the lake we always competed to see who could see the lake first and yell out "I see it!". We learned all of the spots where you might get the first glimpse of the lake.

My wife continued the tradition too and now often beats me if I am not paying close enough attention. The kids just think we are silly.
