Mount Major in Alton is only 1,780 feet above sea level, which makes it only 886' taller than Rattlesnake Island!

Ossipee and Belknap volcanic ring dikes.
Notice that Rattlesnake, Ship, Moose and Sleepers Islands seem to be part of this ring.
