In case you missed the big news....the new official name of the Laconia baseball team, as chosen by the father-son owners, is the LACONIA MUSKRATS!
Previously, when home park was in Connecticutt it was the Silkworms.....so the Silkworms have metamorphosed into the LACONIA MUSKRATS.
Yesterday's newspaper said the owners wanted a water based name and decided to stay away from the Laker's as it was already taken and someone from Moultonborough suggested MUSKRAT.
From the lower parking lot behind the new Laconia Walgreen's it is definately possible to see a large, live muskrat or two or three swimming about in the Winnipesaukee River. So, how about that?
