Rumor has it the film schedule was for after labor day when the crowds were reduced and things would be quieter. Since they were portraying summer the fall foliage was a problem. This brought them to Smith Mountain Lake Va. where they were green longer.
The first time I saw the movie , I was straining my eyes and mind to make out anything familiar. One problem was the scene where Bill Murray was learning to swim off the dock...the water wasn't clear enough
Then at the closing credits I saw it was SML and was really disapointed
