I know that smell! I have a pair of shoes with that smell and I know it comes from the months they spend hanging out in our camp during the summer. Sometimes, when we go into a place that has that smell, I say to the kids, "isn't this great? It smells just like the Lake." To which my husband says, in disgust, "that's mildew you smell."
