How many Mail Boats served on the Lake
The Blue Ghost, operating out of Wolfeboro, delivered mail to Wolfeboro islands and some land locations, was privately owned, and the owner had a contract with the local post office. There were several Blue Ghosts over the years, ranging from a runabout, to bow riders, to pontoons. The Blue Ghost offered a narrated tour of the mail delivery route during which the boat operator pointed out interesting details about the Lake. The operator was, also, very careful about what was said in certain locations as an effort to preserve a level of privacy for the residents.
