As a bass fisher with a trolling motor I spend a lot of time on the other side of the markers and its a minefield in there. Sure, there can be big gaps between rocks but between the gaps there be 'dragons'.
Sadly one of my first runs through a large buoyed area showed a boulder or rock every hundred yards or so with underwater boulders with spalled off tops. The really fresh ones standout as much lighter than the rest of the rock. Also, some markers mark one lonely rock, others mark acres of 'dragons'.
