Today is the first day of spring

watch the ice melt as well as links to special ice out features such as
saunder's bay daily picture with information about previous year's ice out.

ice-out has occurred in recent years when the lake temperature is from 39-41 degrees as reported by the
winnipesaukee dataphoneat the lakeport dam. Today the temp is 33 degrees. Previous years include 2014-35 degrees, 2013-37 degrees and in 2012-41 degrees! We have a lot of warming up to do.
Many anticipate a late
ice-out this year, so we need some rain dancers... And some warming up to prove them wrong.
