The bridge at Long Island is now under consideration for clean-up by the NHDOT. It's not a high priority, as it doesn't contribute to a bridge being unsafe.
Also, according to the bridge maintenance engineer, unless there is an enforcement component, sometimes a clean surface is an invitation for new artwork.
