18' 25HP 4-stroke

I have a 2005 18' Starcraft pontoon boat w/ 25 hp Mercury Bigfoot 4-stroke!
We love it! 2 people aboard.... 12.5 MPH WOT. 4 people.... 10 MPH,
6+ about 7 MPH.

Boat, motor and trailer w gas...

We have one, have used it a few times. Works well while anchored, unless windy.

Maybe There's Something in the Water in Merideth?

While at the town docks in Merideth back in the Spring. There was a guy unloading a mega bass boat, $40,000 flavor. This thing was awesome, 225 hp V-Max, tandem trailer, etc...

clean the connectors!

I go through this almost every year. The connector on my Ranger gets corroded from the Winter driving (salt). My DVM will read 12 vdc although it doesn't make it through to the trailer connector....

You probably want something rather large and also decent horse power.
It's a BIG lake at only 12mph! Loading up a smaller or midsize pontoon boat with a lot of weight will sink the pontoons deep...
