playground lights

The playground lights are on to assist the PD in harassing teenagers who might try to park and hang out there at night - it's easier to search a kid's car with the lights on. I know this because they...

Wide Open Saloon burns to the ground

Amazing pictures on WMUR, but nothing on their website yet. The building is completely destroyed and the Weirs is basically shut down because of it. What a shame. :(

Nice intro, infoperson. I'm sure it'll send the locals flocking to see you. :rolleye1:

ditto that

I have lost a couple of cats to nasty fishers, and a neighbor lost their beagle - yes, they will go after dogs, and they will kill them, and they do not do it for food.

They are nasty animals with...

not an OPA fan

The urgency with which you'll need surgery at OPA is entirely dependent on whether or not you have insurance. Happened twice there with two of us in this household, won't go back. They also have...

those things are creepy, no matter where they're made

My mother-in-law gave me an Annalee doll once. It reminded me of Bride of Chucky and I didn't scold the dog for chewing it to bits. :D

In all seriousness, when a local place goes China, it's no...

Conversely, the same critique about restaurant patrons "Dear Restaurant Patrons" would be implying all patrons tipped, squatted, acted, etc (or whatever the replies read) the same. It would be unfair...

ours went down

Like, 12% down. Great for taxes, not so much for refinancing. I don't know if it's a mistake or if they only adjusted downward those of us who's only lakefront interest is the town beach.

The Whittier House in Ossipee

Great tavern there, good food, casual atmosphere, and a great beer selection on tap and in the bottle.
