As Capt. Tim pointed out, there are very good reasons to license the aquatherms. You are changing the Lake with the machines and if there is a problem it is a method to contact the owners who may be...

Using an Aquatherm is really not that expensive.

If you pay a dock company pull your dock in the fall and put it back in in the spring you are talking some big money. Probably around $400 each...

I have absolutely no problem with Annie or his prices. I was just asking if there was a 'Do it yourself" job that I could do.

Moultonborough refuse gardens....

The Moultonborough transfer station does take waste oil. They heat with it.

The place is spick and span and the staff are helpful and courteous.

It is my social event of the week! Always...

Science Center

For a great afternoon with the kids I would highly recommend the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness.

A great walk. Tons of animals. Lectures on the critters. Scads of children's...

I think that the CO-OP has a tough gig. With all of the new, big, air conditioned places being built in their area they have to maintain a pretty hefty infrastructure. But many of their customers...

Vessel stops

I am a great fan of the NHMP. Always have been. But I do have a problem with random vessel stops.

Page 27 of the NH boaters guide states that the Marine Patrol Officers have the right to pull...

Here's your sign...

Hi Folks!

I have a problem. About 20 years ago my wife, Deb, came home from Heaths with a 1968 century! She picked a 3 by 5 card off of the cork board and made the call. We cleaned her up and...

Loony tunes!

Along with many other duties I maintain the loon sanctuary in Braun Bay. Lot's of fun! But some days are worse than others.

The loon pair nested later than usual this year and every morning I am...

I know that bear!

I think that I have seen that one recently. He has been all over Shaker Jerry and Kona.

There is also a big bruin with a sow that hangs out by the Moultonborough school.

Rafting zones...

I have been in Braun Bay most of my life. Before the no rafting zone was put in at the top of the bay many, many boaters were up there. Now the numbers are fewer but the laws have caused them to...

Max capacity

The argument that the "Captain" does not count is all wet. (No pun intended, well, maybe) And I use the term "Captain" to let him know who is responsible for the safety of all on board and that the...

Please don't hate me...

First off, I am not a big phone user. If I meet you at the public dock or the hardware store I will talk your ear off. I have kissed the blarney stone. But with a phone I am very terse. Too many...

If you are looking for something local I can also recommend North Country Meter in Moultonborough. Good folks.

Thanks for the info!

I was aware of the NH rules (although placing the decal 2' from the stem did catch me by surprise) and it seems that Mass. rules are the same.

Someone threw me a curve ball today.

What are the registration rules for a boat that is "documented" in Massachusetts?

The Power Squadrons do a great job. If anyone can make one to their classes, I would recommend it just like ours.
