Bald eagle on Pleasant St., Meredith

Hi,

This past Saturday, my husband saw a bald eagle fly by and then land in a tree in the neighboring yard on Pleasant St. in Meredith. Pretty exciting! He got a few pictures, though they're a little fuzzy. There's no doubt, however, that this was a bald eagle.

I've read on the forum about eagles in Moultonboro. Has anyone else seem them in the Meredith bay area?

Bald Eagles in Meredith...

Last April I watched one standing on the ice 40' in front of my front shore. Two crows, small in comparison, were scolding and taunting it. It gave them no attention for 10 minutes and then flew off. The wingspan was amazing.

The year before my brother saw an eagle (same one?) catch a fish in the same place. Swooped down and pulled it out of the water with its talons.

I've seen a bald eagle flying between the airport and the Weirs channel. Last week I watched him dismantle a squirrel in my tree. The picture is fuzzy but those large crows were perched waiting for scraps that never came.
Majestic bird for sure!

We have had bald eagles around Pine and Bear islands for years. That is a short distance from Meredith Bay as the crow (or eagle) flies. Their hunting radius can be several miles.
