Boat Registration Delay?

I mailed my boat registration renewal into the boat desk Feb 24. I have not yet received the boat registration. Is anyone experiencing a delay in receiving your boat reg. in the mail?

BTW..I was at Winter Harbor today. Ice is still strong enough to stand on (barely) although it is getting dark. If no wind this week, I would say ice out not until next weekend, even with the warm temps.

I was thinking the same thing

I mailed my registration renewal around the same time you did. I finally got it on Friday.

Bear Island South 03-18-2012 09:36 PM

I think the delay may be due to the new forms there are using, the paper registration that is returned is not the same as prior years.

I have registered the boat at Trexlers for the last 3 years in a row in person in the spring. Is there a reason why I never EVER get any mailing or renewal notice when everyone else does?

Thanks

I had the same problem one year. Then I realized it happened because the NH RMV had an old mailing address.

Boat Registration

I received it today. Good to go now for April 1. Bright red this year.

Sorry to ask but why April 1st?? I'm new to boating in NH and I put my boat in a few ponds over the last few day, am I doing it to early?

probably his prefered launch date, they are good for the 2012 Calender year

hancoveguy 03-19-2012 07:39 PM

Is there a way I can change/update my address with the Nh RMV? Assuming they are who sends out the renewals for boat registrations...

When I had the problem a quick call to their office in Concord fixed the situation.

April 1 is the start of the fishing-for-salmon season. It's nice (but rare) to be able to troll on April 1. This year is one of those instances.

Called

I eneded up calling the registration desk about mine, also sent it in mid-late February. The answer I got was that they are 4 1/2 weeks behind. .

My registration paperwork came in Dec. but it was torn up. I looked everywhere to find a phone number did not get it. So I sent the fee with the torn up registration on 2-21 Today because my check has NOT been cashed I've tried to get ahold of them I call thru the DMV, they forward my call but nobody is answering. Has anybody got the phone number so I can call direct?

Registration

Sent mine 2/20/12, I called them yesterday since they had not cashed the check yet, thought it was lost. They told me they are running a month behind and were just processing requests they received on 2/21.

Dog's Ear 03-21-2012 04:07 PM

We got ours in the mail today, but they still haven't cashed our check.......

That's kind of interesting, I had the wife mail mine out to Concord on 3/19 and got my new reg in the mail on 3/23.

Where can I go to register a boat in person, for the first time?
ps. I'm in the Moultonborough area.

MAXUM 03-29-2012 10:45 PM

Melvin Village Marine I believe still does boat registrations.

AC2717 03-30-2012 10:03 AM

I am still waiting for mine, and I sent them in over three weeks ago

John A. Birdsall 03-30-2012 10:21 AM

reg.

I got my registration on the 24th, but they did not cash the check till the 28th. Seems to me that they should cash the checks insure they clear and then send the registration. When the check was not cashed I almost canceled it. Henceforth, I will put a stamp on my checks saying not valid over 30 days.

jrc 03-30-2012 11:50 AM

Just got mine today, I don't remember exactly when I sent it but sure seems like it took a long time.

no-engine 04-01-2012 08:06 AM

I'm told if you register at local facility, more money stays local....

AC2717 04-01-2012 01:37 PM

that could be true, but you are charged an extra fee

Boat Registration Delay?

No delay in regisatrtion for boat, but I do have a question regarding registration costs....

Just purchased a used jetski, and will be registering sometime i the next month.

Would anyone know the cost for this? Is it a flat fee registration cost, for all jetskis, or is it based upon multiple factors such as : length, HP, Age, value ?

Thanks,
Bigdog

AC2717 04-02-2012 07:22 AM

cc's are a factor

Below is what the website has under FEE's for boat registration
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/...a/72-a-mrg.htm

AC2717 04-02-2012 07:56 AM

oh yeah, still not received my boat or jetski registrations

working on 4 weeks now

is it because I am out of state? LOL, or is it just because I sent it in at the same time as a bunch of other people?

Boat Registration Delay?

Nothing to to with ongoing conversation about delay of boat registration,
but feedback regarding my question about cost to register a jetski ?

I called my local Town Hall Clerk, gave her the year and model of my
jetski, and she told me the registration price would be $53. Jetski is 1999.

Not exactly sure how she arrived at that number, but she indicated that jetski registration is basically a flat fee price based upon the age.

At $53, it's not much less than my 1995 20' Bowrider with 220HP I/O.
Go figure, makes no sense, no sense at all. But then again, I have to think who I'm talking about 'State govenrment' ! I rest my case.....

Have been waiting since mid February for my registration to arrive. Check still not cashed. You would think that they would assign extra people to work the backlog down. But that would require thinking, which appears to be lacking in NH government. So now the state will delay my launching the boat because the paperwork is stuck on someones desk who couldn't give a s...t about people.

tummyman 04-05-2012 06:36 AM

Late correction...just checked my bank account and the check was cashed yesterday. I mailed the check on March 5th, so it appears the state is still one month behind. Needed to correct my facts from the earlier post.

AC2717 04-05-2012 07:53 AM

My Update

April 5th, still nothing, and checks still not cashed out of the account!:(

?? Is this by town?

I always register my boats at the Town Hall as the amount is the same as what the state has sent me, and the town gets to keep a portion if I get my decals there.

My boat registration has been hanging on my bulletin board since December, at least. I'll give you a hint. Next year, drop your check and application in the mail when you receive them and it will be no issue.

I am unsure about town hall registrations, I used to jsut go to my local marina and they charged an agent fee

When I registered my boat I went to the DMV in Salem and was in and out in 10 min. The best experience I have ever had at a DMV.

I finally got my boat registration in the mail on Saturday. Now where is my Jetski Registration!!!!!!

Swanpoint guy 04-18-2012 09:41 PM

Slow

We sent ours in by mail right after we got it in the beginning of the year. Had our launch date Saturday but no registration. On Monday called DMV - 45 minutes later they said they had mailed it to us in early Feb. Very unlikly. We had to drive down to the DMV in Concord - another 90 minutes later we were set with new stickers.

On the up side, what a great week to be on the water!

AC2717 04-19-2012 07:07 AM

SEnt the jetski reg the same day as Boat Reg,
still nothing in the mail

Boat Registration Delay?

Regarding boat registrations.....

Is there any reason why one couldn't just go to the Marine Patrol Hdqtrs in Gilford, and obtain a new boat registration?

Or wouldn't they have all the necessary forms in Gilford, and would require a trip to Concord?

I am registering a new boat I purchased from a private sale, which was previously registered in NH, but not since 2008. FYI, I have the last registration papers from 2008, which the seller provided me ?

Thoughts?

AC2717 04-20-2012 08:05 AM

Finally! received our Jetski Registration
