Standard Horizon CP180i with black box

Anyone use it? I have a 180i and was going to have the transducer mounted while Manitou was hoisted but there were none available. The transducer, when used with the black box, is supposed to give depth, temp, and fishfinder capabilities. Seems cool, but is it worth it? Has anyone used a hull mount transducer (mounts in the bilge). I imagine that the water temp would not be completely accurate but can't think of any other disadvantages. GO SOX!!!!!

I have the CP180I and it works great. I do not have the FF520 setup, but don't think the water temp is going to work unless you use a transducer that is actually touching water- drilled through the hull or transom mount.

I would consider a larger screen such as the CP300I or CPV550 with such a large vessel as the Manitou. You can also interface radar (specific brands) with the Standard Horizon units, in which case I would definitely want a bigger screen.

transducer questions

I too have the standard horizon 180..this is actually my 2nd one. I purchased it from Hamilton Marine up in Portland Maine. Their customer service was excellent. I would recommend giving them a call to get feedback on that transducer. it is pretty expensive
