Cusk Fishing

Anyone fish for cusk? I have been targeting them off of Glendale with a moderate amount of luck. Would like to hear of any other spots that are good. My son (He's 4) loves pulling these to the top of the hole!

Cusk

Look for 20-30 feet of water near a rocky ledge area. I have good luck off the north side of Mink, for example. I cut up shiner for bait or better cut up small cusk caught earlier. Caught a bigger cusk that ate a smaller cusk that ate the original bait last year!

First try of the season!

I put out my cusk lines today in an area that has treated me well in the past, but I really want to get some big ones this year. I too have caught a large cusk with another smaller one inside it. We'll see how things go tommorow. I am also tempted to start using larger bait like the "cusk shiners", small yellow pearch or small cusk, just not sure how to rig them

I can see your cusk lines..me thinks they need reflectors so the snowmobilers don't hit them at night

So do Kayakers! But unfortunately it will never happen.:)

Cusk lines

Mine are spray painted bright orange for daytime visibility and have a wrap of reflector tape for night. Easier to find with a flashlight when I check them after dark too!
